Society Today-vs-Back in the day

Society today has advanced so much compared to 40 years ago when I was born. There were no cell phones, or computers that people could snuggle up to in the comfort of there homes. The closes we came to cell phones was through television shows, and cartoons like the Jetsons. When I was growing up we had telephone booths, and oh yeah books! We had to work out our division, fractions, and other math problems. In other words we had to show the work; how we came to that answer/conclusion. Since we didn't have computers we had to really do research to find the information we needed in doing writing assignments.

Today everything is on the web. You need to know anything- Google it and you will find the answer. You can order food, drugs, or do research; instantly you are connected to anything you want. What can't you learn, off the Internet? Every subject they teach in school, they have a step by step guide on the subject somewhere on line.What would happen if all the computers, cell phones, and all electrical equipment around the world crashed, and lost all data? Could the microwave society live without a microwave?Would today's society be able to survive? Which way is better to you? Loving today's society, but missing the old ways!
